Thanks for your referrals

We just wanted to take the time and thank all of you who have been referring us to your friends, family, coworkers, etc. We have received so many referrals from so many of our clients and we are very appreciative of you. Also, we receive many referrals from Bon Appetit' and we want to thank you for it.

Also, we wanted to publicly thank those certain veterinarians in our area who have been supportive and of assistance to us. Thanks so much for letting us work at your clinics during the months that we were not working in a veterinary clinic while we were getting ours ready to go. You have no idea how much you helped us out during this time. Special thanks to Dr. Moe Bracken, Dr. Jerald Ball, and Dr. Allen Bice. You guys are great and we honestly couldn't have made it without you. We are so thankful to know that there are still good veterinarians in town who are just good guys who are willing to help out. You guys are great, thanks again!

Our business has been working out well. We have enjoyed working in our new facility with all of our staff. This past week it was Teresa's birthday on the 8th and Andrea's birthday is tomorrow on the 11th. Happy Birthday to these gals, we absolutely just love them!

Lauren Steinke has been coming into our clinic since it opened volunteering her time on a daily basis. She wanted to become more familiar with the duties of a veterinary technician and become more knowledgeable about the position. She is a huge help and seems to be learning a lot. We enjoy having her here and appreciate her extra help. Thanks Lauren!

Also, Kasey King, Dr. King's little brother also comes in a couple times a week to volunteer. He enjoys the atmosphere in the veterinary field and is always so willing to dig in and help out. He knows a lot about being a technician and is a great help to us. Thanks Kase!

Official veterinary website

We now have an official veterinary website besides this blogspot (although we will keep using this blogspot as well). Many people are not used to seeing a veterinary website, so we hope you will find it useful as it is the first veterinary website here in good ole' Southern Utah. Please keep in mind that we are in the first stages of developing it and some of the things are "under construction". We will get all of our information on their as time permits. Just click on the link below and it will take you right to it. Enjoy!

Certificate of Occupancy

This past weekend we took our families and friends into our new clinic and cleaned and scrubbed. A BIG THANKS to all of those who came and helped, it sure made things go by faster!

The ceiling tile is complete, the cabinets are complete, the countertops are on, the carpet is laid, the plumbing is finished, the electrical is done, the trim painting and touch up is "almost" complete, they will be doctoring up our epoxy floor, our computer system and phone lines are up and running, and all of our great staff members are hired.

The phone lines are no longer forwarded to our personal cell phones like they have been the last couple weeks. In order to contact us, you will have to call the office at 627-1300 or fax us at 627-2264. If you need to schedule an appointment before our clinic is officially open. Thanks again for your patience and understanding!

We should be getting our Certificate of Occupancy from the city tomorrow! After that, we will be moving stuff in and getting things organized.

A special thanks to those of you who are looking at our web site. It's interesting to see who you are and the interest you have taken in WFVC!

Can't wait for the opening day!

Dr. Barton and Dr. King

There will be tours of our new clinic, food, prizes, free drawings and lots more. SO, pass the word along and come and join us for this exciting event!

We will have emergency services 24 hours a day 7 days a week so you can call the office and be able to reach someone who can help you. Our regular business hours will be as follows:

If you would like to schedule an appointment for your pets, we are taking appointments now. Please call our office at 627-1300.

We have hired some new people! Andrea Passerby will be our part-time secretary working alongside of Teresa Wetzel, our main secretary. She comes to us with a lot of veterinary office experience and knows our program well. She will be a great asset to our team. AND, we are excited to tell you that Austin Zimmerman has joined our team as well. We have worked with Austin for the last couple years and are excited that he would come and work for us. He is a hard worker, knows a lot about the veterinary field and is great with our clients and patients. We are sure that you will love him as much as we do! We also hired another veterinary technician named Alden Kling. Alden comes to us from Pleasant Grove with 3-4 years of veterinary experience and is very well trained on client education. We are excited to get to know Alden better along with all of you.

Things for us have been exciting, stressful, fun, hectic and just plain crazy! So many things have been happening with the clinic and it looks really amazing! It has been neat to see the transformation the last couple of weeks and to see what this place is turning out to look like.
Here are some pictures, don't mind the dust. We are in the process of getting it cleaned up!

Here are our dental/procedure wet tables in our treatment area
The rock on our front desk area turned out great!

Painting, finish work, grid/tile ceilings and cabinets

The walls are all painted and the clinic is looking really good! The cabinets are starting to come in and making it look more like a veterinary clinic. The finish work and grid/tile ceiling is going up and we are getting more anxious every day.
Now, you don't see that every day! It's true, we have a horse trailer parked right in front of festival plaza where we are located. We have had so many people call and tell us that they saw our signs on this horse trailer. Special thanks to Dr. Barton for letting us borrow his horse trailer to hold our company sign. You've gotta love it, especially coming from some crazy veterinarians who know how to have a good laugh. Ya'll bring your pets into WFVC now ya hear! :)

There is some nice looking wood on our front desk and they will fill in the gaps with rock. They will be putting on the rock tomorrow that is the same rock as the exterior of our building.
The doors were hung and the casing and baseboards are being put on now.
The white frame around the wall where our grid ceilings will hang from
It's looking good!

We had hoped to be open the first or middle of February, but is doesn't seem to be happening. We still plan to open in a couple weeks, we just don't know an exact date. Hopefully February does us some good and we can wrap this up quickly. We will let you know the details as time progresses and keep you posted about what is happening at WFVC. As always, thanks for all you do and for being so patient with us.

Drywall, and a new secretary/office manager

The drywall is almost complete!!!
This is the surgery room.
This is a part of the treatment area and where the oxygen cage will go.
A different view of the treatment area.
This is looking down the hallway into some of the exam rooms.
The waiting area and exam rooms.

The clinic looks so different now that the drywall is almost complete. It just can't come quick enough for us! AND, as always, thanks again for all your phone calls, etc. We know that you are just as anxious as we are to get this clinic going and we really do appreciate you ongoing support. We still plan to open sometime in February. Give us maybe 3 weeks and we will be in business!
AND, for your information, we interviewed many people for a secretarial/office manager position. There were so many qualified people that we know would do great. BUT, the person we chose seems very well experienced and possesses the specific skills that we were looking for. Her name is Teresa Wetzel. We are very excited for her to join our team and feel that she will be an excellent fit for our WFVC Family. She is such a neat lady and we can't wait for you all to meet her.

A little update...

For the flooring in the treatment areas we did an epoxy flooring for a non-slip surface and it turned out looking nice. The electricians, plumbers, and HVAC guys have all been in working hard this week to get things finished up. We plan on starting insulation and drywall the first of next week. A big THANKS for your continued patience with us until our building is finished!
